Jacob is a licensed and board certified physician assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants who now practices medical dermatology. Jacob graduated from PA school in January 2023 from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. He is a native of Arizona, having graduated from Arizona State University in 2018 with a BS in genetics, cell, and developmental biology. As an active PA, Jacob is now a member of American Academy of Physician Assistants as well as Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. Prior to PA school, he worked in emergency medicine as a medical scribe, a nursing assistant in a neonatal ICU, and physical therapy aide in a private practice.
Jacob began his relationship with East Valley Dermatology in 2004 as a pediatric patient, immediately noticing the care and effort his clinicians (and now fellow colleagues) took when managing his skin conditions. These providers later became preceptors when Jacob shadowed them while applying for a graduate program and during his clinical year in PA school. With the attention and kindness his providers gave to him, he hopes to continue the edification and training of future clinicians.
Jacob has a passion for furthering his education as a young clinician as well as that of his patients so they can actively participate in the management of their dermatologic needs. His future aspirations include precepting students in office just as his colleagues had done for him in addition to teaching dermatology in a structured academic setting such as a local PA program.
When not working, Jacob loves spending time with his family and friends in addition to traveling, hiking, exercising, and yoga.
