*For patients with a History of Staph Infections**
In addition to your Pre-Op instructions, we ask that you follow these additional instructions in preparation for surgery:
Please pick-up your prescription for Mupirocin ointment that has been called into your pharmacy. Apply the ointment for 2 days prior to your procedure and the day of your procedure with a Q-tip, twice a day, inside your nose. This kills the bacteria that can cause wound infections elsewhere on the body.
